RCOC is committed to supporting the Health, Wellness, and Safety of persons served.
Healthy Life, Happy Life
RCOC’s Health and Wellness initiatives include the Healthy Life, Happy Life program, a new approach to improving the health and wellness of the people we serve. This pilot was launched in 2018 in response to National Core Indicators (NCI) data that shows most adults receiving services from RCOC have a Body Mass Index (BMI) that classifies them as overweight or obese; a majority also do not engage in the recommended amount of moderate physical activity.
The program has evolved, grown, and changed over the past few years, but the goal of maintaining health and wellness remains the same. Most participants graduate from the program and many have also provided very positive feedback about how the program made them feel about themselves and their ability to make good choices.
